The Sr Statistician plays a key role in enhancing portfolio and account management servicing strategies through the development of data driven business solutions. This position focuses on creating improvement in loan servicing through the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of portfolio data. The Sr Statistician applies advanced quantitative and analytical skills to improve decisions and processes through data analysis, model development and strategy testing.
Job Duties:
-Consult with business groups to understand the business opportunity and determine if quantitative analysis and modeling is needed
-Develop written project plans and set expectations
-Conduct data mining and data analysis
-Develop statistical models and perform statistical analysis
-Assist in the development and validation of rule-based predictive models for strategic and operations planning.
-Monitor and validate model performance and update models as needed
-Present and communicate results of modeling efforts in a manner consistent with the target audience
-Maintain and develop various databases, technical models and reports required to support research, data gathering, and analytic responsibilities
-Lead the design, development and deployment of systematic improvements across the organization
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge:
-Demonstrated understanding and experience with relational datasets, data warehouses, data mining and data analysis techniques
-Advanced knowledge of principles, standards, practices and techniques relating to statistical modeling, analysis, interpretation and communication.
-Advanced knowledge of advanced applied statistical methodologies including least squares regression, logistic regression, sampling methodologies, time series, survival analysis, cluster analysis, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, decision trees, multivariate methodologies, non-parametric techniques, and principal components
-Advanced knowledge of experimental design and measurement

-Efficient modeling skills with very large datasets
-Proficiency in econometric or statistical experimental design
-Ability to design and implement model documentation and monitoring protocols.
-Extensive project management skills, demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills
-Ability to initiate and lead complex projects
-Able to work with minimal supervision
-Good MS Word and MS PowerPoint skills
-Advanced MS Excel spreadsheet skills
-Advanced SAS software skills including basic data functions, macros and SQL
Experience:
-Graduate degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research or similar quantitative field and 5+ years of years of related work experience OR undergraduate degree in previous areas with 10+ years of modeling experience and strong SAS skills
