Sr. Credit Market Risk ANalyst

Department Function:
The overall function of the department is to protect the safety and soundness of the markets in the areas of clearance and settlement. It achieves this by providing a guarantee that, should a customer go out of business, the clearing corporations will step in to clear and settle that customer’s guaranteed trades. The contribution of the Credit & Market Risk Group of Risk Management is as follows: It reviews and recommends applicants for membership in the various Clearing Corporations (NSCC, EMCC, and FICC) and the Depository; it monitors the financial firms of NSCC and EMCC. This group also monitors the sufficiency of the DTC participant fund on a participant-by-participant basis and it also assesses the sufficiency of DTC collateral and the establishment and monitoring of debit caps.

Position Summary:
Responsible for the daily calculation and monitoring of market risk exposure in the various clearing corporations and the depository as well as the performance of research, applicant and member credit analyses and due diligence reviews. Responsible also include risk system designs and enhancements.

Principal Responsibilitie:
Review collateral requirements for various Clearing Corporations with the Complex.
Prepare detailed write-ups on applicants for submission to the respective Membership & Risk Committees of the various clearing corporations and the depository.
Prepare, monthly and annual reviews of existing member firms.
Maintain documentation files.
Work closely with PMT’s (Project Management Team) to ensure appropriate systems design and enhancements are made to Risk Applications.
Write and effect test scripts for systems initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
4 years related financial experience such as margin, correspondent services, risk, or compliance.
Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Excel and Word and familiarity with Access
Knowledge of the security markets and current events
Strong working knowledge of FOCUS and CALL Reports
Ability to interact with member firms, regulators and DTCC staff at all levels of the organization.
Understanding of the market risks associated with the debt and equity markets including emerging markets.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA (Finance or Accounting) preferred.
