Sr. Accountant

Description: Our client is a rapidly growing payments company located in sunny South Florida, and is launching its much-awaited product into the marketplace. As a key member of the team, the candidate must be energetic, flexible and aggressive with the ability to shift on the fly and respond to any challenge. Its products protected by worldwide patents, they have redefined the way to think out of the box in the payments industry. Position Title: Accounting Manager This position is the quintessential ground-floor opportunity within a growth-oriented national financial services firm. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate financial and reporting ideas to senior management and have ambition to design and implement initial accounting and reporting systems. Responsibilities: Finance • Develop the initial standardized financial accounting systems, policies, procedures and controls • Update, review and analyze accounting system design alternatives during various growth-stages • Oversight of the preparation, review and analysis of financial statements • Manage the preparation and filing of payroll, sales, personal property and other tax reports • Hire, train and enhance the activities and performance of the accounting staff • Develop analytical tools such as forecasting, budgeting, and benchmark control reports Responsibilities: Operations • Develop periodic management reporting schedules and reports, serving as statistical performance tools to managers, the company’s financial partners, and customers / vendors • Develop treasury reports and procedures to monitor the timing and balances of cash, deposits, accounts receivable and collections efforts, and monitoring of customer data transmissions • Assist Management in identification of operational efficiencies and/or revenue opportunities Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial reporting. • Advanced working knowledge of Word and Excel and accounting systems. • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and results driven. • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple complex projects. • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Requirements – Plus (+): • Previous experience implementing initial accounting and reporting systems. • Extensive experience in financial reporting, including international reporting • Knowledge of e-commerce or charge-card industry. • Demonstrated strengths in organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Must be legally entitled to work in the US. Criminal background check and drug testing are mandatory.
