Software Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Summary:

The Product Specialist works under the direction of the QA Director to perform Quality Control (i.e., conformance to specifications), Quality Assurance (i.e., conformance to processes), and Customer Support activities within Fundtech Corp. The Product Specialist is responsible for developing test cases using functional and interface solution/design documents, testing new or modified software applications, maintaining working relationships with different internal organizations (i.e., Product, Development), and external customers on a daily basis. The Product Specialist is the advocate for the customer to ensure the customer receives software conforming to agreed-upon specifications, and for supporting customer training and testing as the software is delivered to the client.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop test cases that provide evidence of the software’s conformance to documented Functional and Technical specifications. Each test case contains detailed procedures and expected results.
Develop data used to execute the system under test.
Conduct the following levels of tests: end-to-end system test of new systems; negative and positive tests; regression test to ensure no unintended change has been introduced during enhancements.
Analyze system response to each test case by comparing the expected results to the results achieved during the actual test of the system.
Utilize defect management tools to clearly document variances, to include steps to reproduce the defect and attachments for the development team to follow, and assign the appropriate severity and priority to ensure non-compliant issues are addressed and do not adversely impact testing cycles.
Perform re-tests of repair defects to ensure compliance to specifications.
Conduct consistent tests on each release of software within the schedule.
Participate in walk-throughs of documentation (i.e., Technical Specifications, Functional Specifications, Use Cases) held for new applications under development.
Participate in post-test team meetings intended to identify areas of improvement in the test process
Contribute to the development and publication of test results.
Work in teams to determine test objectives, execute test cases and improve testing processes
Support software installations at customer sites, including static data setup, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
Participate in customer training and/or workshop sessions, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) of both application functionality and business processes.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications/Experience:

In depth knowledge of Payments processing and Banking
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in writing functional specification, business and system analysis
Presentation and product training skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Detailed oriented
Project Life Cycle focused and trained
Multitasking
Self motivated and able to motivate others
Knowledgeable of the internet and technical environments, Java, HTML, Internet access mechanisms and basic knowledge of LANs and distributed computing architecture, object-oriented applications
PC knowledge should include MS Office Products
