Settlement Team Manager

Position Summary:

Lead group responsible for settlement and reconcilement functions associated with processing of credit card portfolio. Will have a solid understanding of settlement transaction flows as well as general ledger accounting. Will be able to balance daily responsibilities of work completed by direct reports with need to manage vendor relationships (payment, convenience check, and balance transfer vendors).

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for timely and accurate reconcilement of all transaction processing bank accounts and general ledger accounts in accordance with policy.
• Ensure timely, accurate and complete settlement of systems.
• Manage Bank risk of losses due to customer or employee fraud as well as policy and process errors.
• Design and implement processes for accurate, controlled, and timely settlement of systems and general ledgers.
• Design and implement new processes to increase efficiency and eliminate incidence of errors in transaction processing.
• Manage vendor partners to ensure cost effective/competitive pricing, compliance with Service Levels Agreements and to prevent processing errors.

Other Responsibilities: • Extensive contact with other areas of the organizations at all levels is required.
• Weekly and monthly productivity reporting and trend analysis will be required.

Education, Experience, And Skills Required:

• Minimum 3 years Accounting/Reporting/Analysis experience
• Minimum 3 years supervising accounting specialists
• Understanding of banking processes (check processing, ACH)
• Minimum 1 year of proven vendor management experience.
• 4 year college degree
Preferred Experience & Skills: • Minimum 2 years banking/credit card and operations experience.
• TSYS experience helpful, but not required
• Project management
• Process Improvement / Risk mitigation
• Excellent communication, quantitative, supervisory and leadership skills required.
