Senior Trading Assistant, Fixed Income

Responsibilities:

•Serve as point-person to research and resolve production issues on E*TRADE Financial’s proprietary integrated trading platform on behalf of E*TRADE’s Fixed Income Global Asset Management Group and Treasury. Act as liaison between ETGAM and Technology, explaining business issues and needs to IT in technology-friendly terms.
•Partner with Portfolio Managers, Product Developers, Business Analysts and IT on project initiatives related to the trading platform.
•Devise feasible solutions for complex business problems using insight and creativity in evaluating alternatives.
•Develop and document business case/scope/plan, business/functional requirements.
•Monitor projects from initiation through delivery and organize interdepartmental or cross-functional team activities ensuring completion of projects on schedule.
•Generate test scripts and test plans to complete UAT and parallel testing.
•Coordinate and document inter-departmental procedures as needed between the Desk, Back Office and Accounting.
•Coordinate implementation of future change controls.

Minimum Professional and Technical Skills:

•2-4+ years experience in a trade support role or as Business Analyst and/or Project Manager with some system development life cycle (SDLC) knowledge.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SQL, and Project.
•Knowledge of trading and back office settlement systems/processes. Fixed Income experience (MBS, ABS, etc.) highly desired.
•Demonstrated organization skills & ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
•Demonstrated ability to work under strict deadlines and short turnaround timeframes.
•Demonstrated ability to tackle new subject matter and grasp it quickly
•Demonstrated ability to recognize and escalate issues for immediate resolution.
•Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and mathematical skills.
•Team player and well spoken in the presence of management.
•Detail oriented, self-motivated worker with a strong technical background.

Minimum Education, Certification, Training:

•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT or Economics
