Position Location: This position can be based either in our Los Angeles, CA office, or in our Bellevue, WA office.
Position Summary:
Responsible for development, enhancement and maintenance of state-of-the-art client/server, WEB based and end user reporting applications. Provides technical leadership to less senior staff members. Duties cover Client Server and WEB application and can include end user ad hoc reporting. Duties include gathering system requirements, systems design; programming, testing and troubleshooting using Client Server and WEB based tools in a Windows environment. End user ad hoc reporting duties include definition, development, testing and implementation of reports, queries and file extracts. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a strong team player with some leadership skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Gathering system requirements.
System design.
Coding, testing and de-bugging programs
Maintenance and support (including after hours) for production applications.
Define, develop, test and implement reports, queries and file extracts (Optional).
Prepare system documentation as appropriate.
Provide technical leadership and direction to less senior staff members.
Prepare and execute project plans as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Four years experience with VB/.net/SQL Server
Two years Experience with HTML and JAVA and other WEB based development tools.
Experience with Cognos tools preferred.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite of tools and SQL.
Working knowledge of system development methodologies.
Strong attention to detail, requires accuracy with numerical calculations.
Strong analytical skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Business or financial background preferred; experience with fixed income securities a plus
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to multi-task, ability to lead.
