Senior Loan Closer
Job Type: Full-TimeJob Description:A Senior Loan Closer in the Standardized Loan Closing & Funding Department is responsible for overseeing and completing the daily operations of closing and funding transactions of all loan types and loan sizes. This individual performs the functions of the position with minimal supervision and reports to the Manager of the Standardized Loan Closing & Funding Department. Duties include: reviewing prepared loan documentation to ensure that all loans are documented, collateralized and closed in accordance with policies and procedures; reviewing credit approval packages as well as required due diligence prior to loan documentation and funding; closing and funding loan according to established policy and procedures; serving as liaison between the borrower/customer, lender, and loan operations regarding closing issues; ensuring funding within constraints as requested by Lender and/or borrower; overseeing the work of other team members; and ensuring daily operations are completed in a timely manner. The Senior Loan Closer interacts extensively with the business team, senior management, and third party vendors on issues relating to closing a transaction in a timely manner.Location: Loan CenterMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
5-7 years’ experience in all types of loan/collateral documentation including commercial, consumer, Real Estate, SBA, Energy, construction, and rehabilitation loans
5-7 years’ experience interpreting real estate development and construction budgets, reviewing/approving pre-funding closing requests, balancing/reconciling closing funds
Thorough knowledge of banking operations, loan documentation, and or compliance as related to area of responsibility
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, particularly relating to loan accounting and banking general ledger
Proven ability to work in fast-paced team environment, handle multiple tasks and prioritize daily workflow
Proven ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization
Proven ability to analyze information, draw conclusions and make recommendations as related to area of responsibility
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proven team building and supervisory skills
Advanced level computer competency including Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Thorough knowledge of wire funds transfers, setting up bank accounts and impounds and internal funds transfers
Thorough knowledge of banking systems such as Fidelity, Treev, Laser Pro, Decision Pro, B2B, etc.
Thorough knowledge of commercial, consumer, real estate,
construction, SBA energy collateral/loan documentation, RLOC’S, LOC’S, Letters of Credit (International/Domestic), brokerage accounts and products, legal entities, necessary lien perfection requirements, appraisal regulations, other lending environmental issues and other regulations, policies, processes and procedures, products and services as related to area of responsibilityPreferred Qualifications:
1-2 years general supervisory experienceDuties:
Coordinates and oversees the closing and funding process so that processes are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the bank’s credit approval and compliance policies, standards and procedures
Reviews, analyzes and oversees Credit Approval Packages (CAP), loan documentation (internal or external) and required due diligence (i.e., preliminary title and exceptions, organizational documents, UCC’s, taxes & insurance, etc) to ensure the data integrity on documentation, closing and funding is accurate prior to disbursement
Analyzes any issues on the CAP; reports any issues to lender
Creates preliminary Closing Due Diligence Checklist & Funding Package
Communicates and submits Due Diligence Checklist regarding closing related issues to business team, Manager, Escrow/Title Companies, and/or other parties to ensure all conditions and regulatory requirements are met prior to funding; obtains or requests missing documentation or required waivers as per approved authority
Reviews and oversees complete and final Closing Loan Package including fully executed loan documents and required due diligence to verify accuracy of loan file
Reviews final Funding Package; initiates funding upon verification of Bank’s receipt of properly approved executed Funding Package; coordinates the release of loan proceeds; communicates funding information to customer, department, escrow/title companies, etc. upon release of loan proceeds
Performs and oversees various post closing tasks such as initiating closing exceptions to system, ensuring all required documents are present in required file format prior to shipping to Imaging
