Legg Mason's Internal Audit Department is currently seeking a Sr. Auditor to work in their downtown Baltimore headquarters. Daily responsibilities include planning and conducting financial, operational and compliance audits and evaluating adequacy/effectiveness of internal controls. Will supervise audit activities of staff, including the review of all work papers prepared by the staff. Will perform detailed audit procedures as set forth in each audit program, ensuring audit objectives are met and prepare clear, concise, and well-documented work papers evidencing the testing performed and related results. Independently evaluate audit results and develop recommendations to address deficiencies, weaknesses, and areas of concern noted during the performance of the audit. Prepare draft audit reports for approval by the Audit Manager and participate in staff development by providing training. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates will have a BS/BA with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, at least three years of audit or securities regulatory examination experience, with at least one of those years at a supervisory level. Must possess strong analytical skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be PC literate and available for approximately 15-20% travel. Financial services experience, particularly in the securities brokerage/asset management industry, as well as CPA or CIA designation would be desired.
