Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets

The Senior Accountant will oversee fixed asset accounting activities for 5500+ locations. This includes monthly maintenance (acquisitions, dispositions, and cost adjustments) as well as monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals and variance analysis. This individual will prepare account reconciliations and prepare quarterly forecast and annual plan.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Month-End Close
Run depreciation and related reports
Accrue repairs and maintenance
Amortize prepaid repairs and maintenance
Record and track Gerber core credits
Other miscellaneous accruals

2. Account Reconciliation’s
Prepare reconciliation’s for assigned accounts

3. Plan / Forecast
Prepare annual plan and quarterly forecasts
Explain variances from plan and/or forecast
Identify unusual account trends and communicate findings as appropriate

4. Fixed Asset Maintenance
Record asset acquisitions, dispositions and cost adjustments

5. Special Projects
Effectively respond to management requests for information and analysis
Identify issues and implement controls to minimize risk and maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley

6. Streamline processes

7. Maintain effective and ongoing communication with key customer interfaces, including home office management and staff, field representatives and vendors
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate for Senior Account will meet the following requirements:
4-7 years accounting experience (Fixed Asset experience preferred)
Supervisory experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree
Advanced Excel proficiency
Knowledge of GAAP
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
