Securities Data: US Regional Manager

By combining your talent and our strengths, we can acheive great results.UBS Investment Bank is seeking a Manager to lead and develop the US regional CRM team within the Instrument Data Management function and to act as global Manager for the newly formed Instrument Data Business Support and Analytics team.This role entails supervising the processes for the maintenance & distribution of instrument & reference static data within the investment bank, across all products (equities, investment banking, fixed income-rates & currencies) and managing a portfolio of ‘run-the-bank’ projects in order to deliver process improvement and to facilitate new support initiatives.The candidate will need to possess strong communication skills, an instinctive sense of urgency with an ability to work to aggressive deadlines. Experience contributing to the development of an operating model would be beneficial. The candidate must also demonstrate people management skills, ability to learn, be proactive and creative, and manage multiple issues at once. Experience working on business critical, client-facing processes, as well as within a large team, is essential. Experience working with instrument data and/or outsourced vendors would be highly desirable.Key Responsibilities: Manage CRM team which acts as the first point of escalation for internal clients when they experience difficulty working with the outsource vendor to meet a data requirement they have raised Understand, maintain, and track progress against the existing SLA (service level agreement) between UBS and their outsourced vendor who performs the instrument data maintenance function Lead the team in developing a working knowledge of all business processes performed by the outsourced data management team, understand the procedures and relative importance of those processes. Ensure the team develops a strong, detailed working knowledge of the business ‘critical’ processes within the US time-zone (treasuries/agencies etc) and be able to comfortably execute those processes should circumstances require. Monitor the US and London workflow channels for the instrument data team (chat / email) and ensure queries are being investigated, completed on time (in line with the SLA) and any relevant information is being communicated to the business stakeholders Assist the outsource vendor when specific issues arise, which may be problematic in relation to completing a specific business request Liaison and work directly with the business requestors and the vendor to resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner Understand the principles of data management, and ensure these are applied by the outsource vendor at all times – capture any breaches and work with the outsource vendor to improve their understanding and application of the principles Work with the outsource vendor to up-skill the team in the areas of communication and client service, use experience and specific examples to demonstrate areas for improvement, monitor the implementation of those improvements and validate (and measure) their success Track all issues arising on the instrument process and present monthly reports capturing issues/risks/areas for concern and mitigating actions to the instrument management team Set up and manage the global Instrument Data Business Support and Analytics team.
