SENIOR TREASURY ANALYST

Westlake Chemical Corporation is a manufacturer and marketer of petrochemicals and fabricated products located at sites throughout the US and Canada. With headquarters in Houston, Texas, the company's range of products includes ethylene, polyethylene, styrene, vinyl intermediates and PVC, as well as PVC pipe, windows and fence. We have an excellent opportunity for a Treasury Analyst within located at our corporate offices in Houston.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the research, development and execution of cash management / funding schemes and advises business units. Conducts and documents the funding of operations which requires technical and analytical skills without supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Determines funding requirements.Negotiates and procures banking services and assists in the design of funding schemes.Invests excess cash and initiates borrowings.Executes spot value foreign exchange trades for the funding of international affiliates.Coordinates with accounting and tax departments for funding issues that have tax implications.Responsible for financial analysis which may include evaluating business unit / project cash flows, accounting and tax issues.Manages relationships with banks and other financial institutions.Responsible for the presentation and periodic reporting to management as needed.Coordinates the completion of projects and verifies the accuracy of work performed by lesser experienced analysts.Facilitates and coordinates banking or risk management projects to improve cost of banking or and operational efficiencies of cash and risk management processes.Demonstrates problem solving abilities and communicates solutions to management.Interacts with other departments to accomplish stated requirements and assists in the development of solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.A minimum of 5 years experience in finance, treasury or financial analysis.Banking, accounting or cash management experience dealing with some basic tax and / or regulatory issues; international experience a plus.Knowledge and practical experience of working in a corporate treasury environment with an understanding of the accounting issues and operational mechanics related to investments, banking and payment systems, currency / commodity trades is a plus.Working knowledge of financial accounting, financial statement interpretation.Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
