SBB Portfolio Risk Manager

Job Function:

Supervises the SBB portfolio management, analysis, reporting functions; develops and manages processes to ensure proper coding of SBB loans as well as maintaining a thorough understanding of the SBB portfolio, including the composition, segmenting into various risk segments, identifying areas of concern.  Manages the bank portfolio administration, particularly concentrations.



Job Responsibilities:

60%

Ensures tracking and evaluation of portfolios, identifies for areas of concentration or other risks; recommends changes in portfolio or concentration strategies based on identified risks. Develops corrective action to any significant profit plan variance.

10%

Prepares and analyze information and reports for bank and Capital One management; analyze Caps and Concentrations Report to ensure adequate cap levels and balanced portfolios; prepares/reviews quarterly call report information on Reg O credits; reviews Reg O maturity list monthly, ensuring timely approval of renewals and reporting as required by the regulation; prepares Reg O information for annual report.

10%

Ensures compliance with 12 CFR 34(d), including ensuring initial coding is accurate and monitored by business lines and submission by business lines/loan systems is accurate and reporting exposure within the Bank and to Capital One.

5% - Serves as Secretary for the Retail Risk Management Committee.

5% - Responsible for workflow-scheduling, employee counseling, performance problems/resolutions, preparation of annual employee review(s), determine and fulfill training needs, interview and recommend new hires, promotions, demotions, terminations and salary adjustments.  Assures the timely and effective development of staff under management.

10% - Other responsibilities as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Related Experience:

Bachelors Degree in a business or other related field or equivalent work experience.

5-7 years experience as a portfolio analyst, loan review analyst, credit analyst or lender.

3 years supervisory experience in an analytical environment.



Skills and Abilities:

Strong background in accounting, finance, statistics and economics including experience in credit and financial analysis.

Working knowledge of bank operations.

Understanding of applicable regulatory guidelines.

Knowledge of PC based word processing, spreadsheet, ACCESS, POWERPOINT, and MFA software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking and presentation.

Excellent interpersonal skills including customer service and negotiating skills.

Independent and self motivated.

High attention to detail with strong editorial skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong supervisory skills including staff development



Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.

Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.

Ability to read and interpret a document.

Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.  If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
