General: Responsible for performing the most complex activities related to business analysis and/or modeling. Duties may include: performing the most complex analysis and/or modeling that maximizes profits and/or asset growth and minimizes credit and/or operating losses and other risk exposures; providing analytical support on retail credit, operating losses and other product strategies to ensure company goals are met; segmenting and monitoring various credit, deposit and other product groups, vintages, concentration limits, etc. and making recommendations to management based on those trends; producing performance monitoring and benchmarks regarding growth, mix, delinquency, losses and overall profitability and performance; coordinating the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for senior management; reviewing and analyzing trends in current population distributions and recommending strategies May develop the most complex programming models to extract data and/or manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling. May manage the roll-out of companywide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. The most senior position within the group that provides work direction to lower level consultants.Specific:
This senior quantitative analyst will be supporting the econometric analysis needs of the Corporate Compliance and Risk Oversight department, focusing on loss forecasting and Basel II validations. This will include reviewing econometric models used in the production of loss forecasts, developing reports and recommendations for senior corporate and business line management, participating in the evaluation of credit scoring models, and contributing to the development of our regulatory compliance program. Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of and experience with applied econometric and sampling techniques; time-series forecasting techniques; experience managing and working with large databases; effective written and verbal communication skills; strong teamwork skills; and relevant work experience.
Minimum Qualifications


* Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related filed (Ph.D. strongly preferred, but experience may substitute)

4 to 6 years performing related job duties, preferably in a banking, loan-based financial services, or regulatory environment.

Advanced knowledge of and experience with applied cross-sectional econometric and sampling techniques and relevant work experience.

Must have extensive experience working with and managing large data sets, including data cleaning and validation, preparing databases for analysis, performing complex data manipulations and calculations,

Must have extensive experience programming statistical code (primarily in SAS) in a PC and Unix environment to perform complex data operations and estimate econometric models.

Demonstrated effective time-management and change management skills
* Preferred Skills:
Advanced skills in MS Access, Excel and Word.

Experience designing statistically valid and efficient sample selection strategies is desirable.

Effective oral and written communication skills, including preparing reports suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences, and preparing clear documentation of statistical methods and the model development process.

Experience supervising junior research/analysis staff
