Retirement Actuary - AVP

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced retirement actuary who is an ASA or near ASA and/or an Enrolled Actuary to join our consulting team servicing large and mid-size clients. This position is located in our Somerset, NJ office.

DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF LEAD CONSULTANTS INCLUDE:

Completing and interpreting funding actuarial valuations and cost estimates

Determination of annual expense and disclosures under FAS87/88/106/132

Preparing plan design and benefit strategy studies and cost estimates for collective bargaining

Preparation and supervision of complex valuation data reconciliations

Preparation of IRS and PBGC filings

Maintaining good working relationships with clients

Training and supervision junior staff

Participation in practice improvement initiatives

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

Good oral and written communications skills

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and appreciate a dynamic work environment

5-10 years of related experience

Working knowledge of ERISA regulations and accounting rules

Experience with Postretirement Health Plans a plus

Strong technical ability, including valuation programming and extensive spreadsheet expertise

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree (Mathematics or Actuarial Sciences degree preferred).

Associate or near Associate of the Society of Actuaries and/or Enrolled Actuary.
