Research Associate, US Equity
Responsibility:
Gather, analyze, and disseminate information about US Equity- Small Cap and Mid Cap Value marketable managers and act as a resource to the research consultant.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
· Attend marketable manager meetings in Boston.
· Prepare pre-meeting materials.
· Assist in writing and maintenance of meeting notes.
· Maintain, update and modify comparative analysis spreadsheets on manager universe.
· Do performance analysis on managers, including attribution work.
· Conduct research and create exhibits (manager and product specific) for consultant meetings.
· Help with the review of problem manager situations as they arise.
· Support the effort of recommending manager selections.
· Work on special projects as assigned by the research consultant.
· Create risk/return charts, manager specific performance analysis pages, Bloomberg screens, portfolio analysis, and portfolio characteristic charts upon request by research consultant.
· Update firm, product, and personnel related changes with IMDB Group.
· Travel with research consultant on some visits with manager firms.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
BA/BS. CFA candidate, Level I or II preferred. Demonstrated interest in equity analysis and equity markets. Analytical skills – quantitative highly desirable. Ability to work independently, self-starter, ability to assign priorities to multiple requests for information while ensuring integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data. Strong writing skills and communication skills a must. Experience with attribution analysis helpful. Proficient in Excel and Word. Knowledge of Morningstar, Bloomberg and Factset a plus.
