QDRO Determination Services Manager
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies, seeks a manager with extensive compliance experience to oversee two teams of compliance consultants, administrators, and associates responsible for providing Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) determination services and excess processing for Institutional Retirement Plan Services clients. Your chief responsibility is to develop your teams into high-performing, resilient groups focused on delivering exceptional client service in accordance with established policies and procedures.
You'll actively manage all aspects of services delivered by the teams, including new client on-boarding, implementation projects, and day-to-day operations. Using team dashboards, you'll ensure that services operate in a fiscally responsible manner, and that established goals for quality, accuracy and consistency are met. To ensure that teams operate effectively and efficiently and in compliance with new legislation, you'll initiate new methods of service delivery and update team processes.
You'll identify and resolve complex compliance issues and act as a senior liaison between internal and external clients and other relevant Vanguard departments. You'll also develop, deliver, and participate in training initiatives for a variety of Vanguard departments.
In your role as manager, you'll perform all HR-related functions for your teams, including hiring, training, setting standards, evaluating performance, recommending wage actions and terminations. You'll participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of business experience, with two to three years of experience managing large teams and complex projects.
- Five years of retirement plan compliance experience, preferably with QDRO determination and excess processing experience.
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly to a variety of audiences on complex technical issues related to QDRO determination and excess processing.
- Demonstrated analytical/problem-solving skills related to regulatory issues, and the ability to apply technical knowledge to solving them.
- Ability to properly assess problem situations, analyze data and results, and prioritize/handle multiple projects.
- Experience and knowledge in areas related to regulatory research and inquiries, competitor retirement plan compliance services, competitor defined contribution services, and knowledge of recordkeeping database.
- Extended hours will be required, especially during peak activity months.
