About this Job

As an Proof Operator, you will proof and MICR encode deposits received from branches and other departments and to identify out of balance conditions and other exceptions to processing in order to ensure nightly deadlines are met; thereby ensuring proper float allocation for TCF.

Candidate must be able to perform the following duties…
Must able to work 2nd shift, evening and Saturdays
Must have either proof operating experience and/or 12,000 kph
Ability to work under deadline pressure
REQUIREMENTS
Areas of Responsibility;

The ideal candidate will:
Processes all Unqualified items received from other departments within the TCF organization including, but not limited to: Item Processing, ATM, Adjustment and Batch Department ensuring proper procedures are followed for Out of State items, General Ledger entries and bundles exceeding $99 million.
Receives and prepares incoming documents from branches, using established methods in order to properly facilitate the encoding process.
Processes credit and debit documents through a proof machine correctly MICR encoding and endorsing each item while maintaining the production and quality standards of the position. Documents included are Customer Deposits, Retail Items, Money Orders, Official Bank Checks and Saving Bonds.
Locates and identifies all out of balance conditions due to customer and/or teller errors by comparing deposit information to the proof machine master listing tape; writing corrective documentation when necessary to balance.

Requirements;
High School diploma or equivalent
Prior cashier, accounting, ten key or proof experience
Minimum accuracy rate of 1 error in 1,000 items
Must have either proof operating experience and/or 12,000 kph
