Programmer Analyst
This position will work closely with the software development and support staff as well as clients to design and develop leading edge GUI client-server and Web-enabled database applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Stay abreast of client business needs and opportunities and provide consultative assistance as needed.
2.Program level analysis, design, coding and unit testing of current and new applications as assigned to meet functional & technical requirements.
3.Work with clients as assigned to define, analyze and document their requirements. Develop and present written proposals and create corresponding work plans and schedules for client and management acceptance.
4.Communicate timely and accurate status reports to client and DDI management. Create and maintain work plans and provide status updates for assigned projects. Maintain a personal work schedule with realistic estimates of work effort and start/finish dates for assigned tasks.
5.Works as an assigned resource on projects lead by another staff member.
6.Prepare written technical and functional documentation for assigned programs to accurately describe their purpose and function.
7.Participate in design and code reviews, and perform system testing of software developed by peers.
8.Assist the Support staff as needed to facilitate timely and accurate resolutions. Analyze and resolve program defects reported by external and internal clients. Timely resolution of assigned client support issues.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet or exceed shared performance objectives for the organization. Demonstrate leadership and competency in the areas of client relations, communication, industry knowledge, negotiation, conflict resolution, and technical skills. Identifies and communicates known or potential problems and opportunities and recommends actions to management when appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
•BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•At least 4 years of related experience in a client-centric software development environment. 4 years of application software development experience. Development experience using Progress 4GL/RDBMS (GUI) would be a big advantage.
•Working knowledge of SDLC and project management methodologies.
•Must be a team player with a record of contributing to group results.
•An analytical problem solver with the ability to think, plan and act to achieve optimum results.
•Superior verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
•Proven ability to adjust to changing business conditions and priorities.
•Energetic and interested in a challenging environment where creativity, innovation, empowerment and learning are encouraged.
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the charitable not-for-profit sector. Particular strengths in financial management, fundraising, donor development and constituent relationships would be beneficial but not required.
