Production Project Manager, Digital Asset Management

The objective of this position is to manage a team of individuals that are responsible for providing quick turnaround of design and/or copy revisions to existing direct mail or other marketing collateral for reprinting. In addition, this position is also responsible for managing the storage and retrieval of new and existing assets, along with an on-line routing and approval system for streamlined workflows. The DAM Project Manager establishes the relationships and oversees the collaboration with internal and external business partners to produce quality marketing communications that are on target and are brand right to meet or outperform business partner goals. Job responsibilities include the following:Supplier ManagementManage supplier relationship for the outsourcing of our digital asset management system for storage and retrieval of DFS digital assets.Interact daily with on-site account manager to ensure quick attention to any questions or problems with the DAM system, which includes ImageMerchant (storage and retrieval system for DFS digital assets), ShareStream (routing and approval system) and DemandSelect (web-based print on demand system).Manage the DAM RFP process including analysis, presentation to upper management and contract negotiations. Manage contract executions and compliance.Ensure team is proactive in trouble shooting and problem-solving issues that may arise with supplier to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of digital assets, developing/implementing solutions as necessary to improve the efficiency of this function.Enforce production quality control standards including supplier adherence to service level standards.Ensure compliance of all print suppliers and agencies that all finished production files are sent for storage/retrieval to DAM system.Work with project tracking software supplier (Adsystems) on the creation of any new project tracking reports, as needed.Team and Goal ManagementManage a team of designers and proofreader(s) that work directly with internal business partners to supply quick turnaround changes to existing copy or art for the purpose of efficient production of reprints to direct mail or other marketing collateral.Oversee workload of team, ensuring balance of workload and adherence to deadlines.Ensure team is compliant with branding guidelines, style and copy standards, the DAM naming conventions and Legal and Marketing copy disclosures.Assist Manager in developing strategies to achieve team and department goals including maximizing savings, improving resource allocation, increased innovation and collaboration while reducing overall expenses.Responsible for the hiring, development, training, coaching, goal setting and writing of performance reviews. Be open and accessible to staff, providing direction/inspiration as needed.Collaboration and CommunicationEstablish, develop and maintain positive, productive internal and external business partner relationships.Mange team to meet business partners’ needs through partnership and communication to effectively plan and execute current and future projects while providing high levels of service and teamwork.Responsible for expanding the use of the approval and routing software (ShareStream) to gain efficiencies across the company.Financial/ReportingSupervise utilization of department database (AMPS) for job tracking and reporting.Create new reports to effectively manage team or track production and/or savings, as needed.Estimate and manage annual budget for DAM system.Industry KnowledgePossess working knowledge of graphic design and print production process.Seek and review new technologies in digital asset management industry that will bring efficiencies or flexibilities to our business. Share those technologies with business partners and offer suggestions for improvements by utilizing new methods or resources.Remain current on financial and credit card legislation that affects direct mail industry. REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Skills Required Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Creative Design field with 6-8 years of recent applicable experience.
Demonstrated project management ability, including organization and attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to manage diverse functions and projects independently and proven track record for identifying and implementing process improvements.
Vendor management experience.DESIRED SKILLS:
