Portfolio Officer

Using both a quantitative and subjective criteria, the Portfolio Officer is responsible for providing investment recommendations that satisfy the client's investment policies and risk tolerances. The Portfolio Officer's other major accountabilities include: creating qualitative based models, monitoring and adjusting existing portfolios, communicating portfolio changes to clients, and representing S& P at client meetings. The role is also responsible for developing specialized portfolio strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree and at least a level 3 CFA is required Qualified candidates have 3+ years of experience as an assistant analyst or assistant portfolio manager, or as data developer for a financial data vendor Must have a solid knowledge of portfolio management and security valuation including a wide variety of asset classes (i.e. commodities and fixed income) Must have an solid understanding of risk, taxes and timing Must be very comfortable working with financial databases Strong data mining skills Must be very familiar with equity valuation Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicate with C-level and senior level clients; comfortable presenting to a group Advanced Excel skills (macros, formulas, graphs) Knowledgeable of Compustat, or Factset, or Bloomberg or Clarify Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions
