Policy Economist - Surveillance Coordinator

Coordinate the Banking Studies & Structure Department surveillance program, including:
-Work with Division management to identify info needs and design solutions to address needs.
-Identify surveillance program enhancements and develop products, tools and processes that address the surveillance program's objectives.
-Collaborate in Division's quality management initiatives, including communicating District institutions' risk i.d. measures and outlier status.
-Create solutions in support of exam activities through efficient organization and communication of surveillance findings.
-Complete ad hoc surveillance activities at both Tenth District & Federal Reserve System level.
-Provide key support to Division's Risk Council process, in particular contributing fresh info on Tenth District banking risks and trends.

Routinely prepare speeches, briefing documents and outlines on current banking topics for Bank management.

Work is typically of moderate priority and complexity. May assume subject matter expert role on moderately complex regulatory or industry topics.

Communicate background and status on these topics to Bank management and staff.

Further develop advanced technical and analytical skills, including the ability to independently apply, interpret, and explain regulatory concepts of increasing complexity.

Provide honest feedback and constructively receive feedback for development.

Independently develop and track performance with regard to key objectives and behaviors for the job.
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in utilizing a variety of analystical techniques.

May include the use of basic quantitative modeling tools, econometrics and statistics, and computer programming and numerical methods.

Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in utilizing and manipulating data contained in the core automation and work process tools utilized by the Bank and Federal Reserve System.

Demonstrates balanced judgment and well-reasoned decision making in situations that involve moderate complexity or problematic issues, public scrutiny, and market reactions.

Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and oral.
