Performance Tester - Load Tester

Performance Test Lead

Scope: Performance Test Lead interfaces with project managers, Architects, Systems Analyst, DBA's, Tech Leads and QA Leads (and other parties as necessary) to ensure an error free environment through thorough stress testing of the infrastructure, application, or interface prior to launch. Performance Test Lead will be responsible for project and/or product testing with varying ranges of complexity and risk. Testing includes Web, Client/Server, Mainframe, Oracle Queries, Terminal Emulator, and Middleware applications.


Responsibilities:
"Communicate with Project Managers, Systems Architects, Systems Analyst, DBA's and Application Developers to gather requirements for testing and develop estimates for testing execution
"Writes effective test scripts within the framework of accepted tools (Mercury Interactive - Load Runner, Win Runner) using documented requirements and technical specifications provided by client project managers
"Executes test scripts; through automated or manual methods and reports findings according to the defined process
"Participates/Support diagnostics testing of newly defined or modified environments
"Develops data driven test automation scripts and executes performance and load testing of client products
"Alerts client of defects and level of risk associated with each; keeps thorough records of defects; updates defects as status changes and reports to management on an ongoing basis the status of defects
"Keeps project managers and technical staff informed of factors that may effect a timely rollout of the product or project
"Conducts root cause analysis of all defects reported during project or product testing
"Alerts client personnel to outstanding issues and assists as needed with problem resolution.
"Updates project tracking tools as needed such as; First Time, Test Director, MS Project Plan
"Attends project team meetings and is prepared to discuss status
"Provides inputs and assist with the development of continual process improvements
"Coordinates test efforts of and with other resources within and outside of the Performance Test Team
"Provide effective written and verbal communications of technical results to IS and business team leaders.
"Other duties as assigned by QA Manager


Requirements:
Java is the protocol used in wrting the Test Scripts - Will need Java experience....
"2 or more years previous testing experience in a business environment
"2-3 years previous experience with Mercury Interactive's testing suite (Load Runner, Win Runner, Test Director)
"Must have ability to develop scripts based on backend processing of middleware applications. The resource will be required to develop the scripts without record and playback functionality.
"2-3 years previous experience developing and/or testing solutions with an established language (C/C++, JAVA, VB, EJB, Unix Shell scripting, Terminal Emulator, etc.)
"1 or more years previous experience putting technical results into a report format such as Crystal Reports, HTML/ASP
"Previous project/test management/planning experience
"Excellent communication skills; oral and written
"Excellent time management skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks/assignments with staggered deadlines and due dates; must be able to coordinate multiple tasks/assignments for several resources
"Must be willing to work day or evening hours
"Strong decision making/problem solving and analytical skills
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
