Operational Risk - Mapping

Calyon Financial is a global brokerage firm headquartered in Chicago with offices in all major financial centers. We are looking for an Operational Risk - Mapping individual to join our Risk team in Chicago.

The operational risk is a position within the Permanent Control group of Calyon Financial reporting to the Permanent Control Manager. This position will be responsible for the identification, evaluation, monitoring and reporting of all operational risks within the Calyon Financial group based upon the following directives as defined by Calyon DRCP / DCP (formerly DGCR – RO) – Direction des Risks et Control Permanents (Calyon directives: D3.5.5.2 Operational risk mapping) .

Day to day responsibilities include:

•Responsible for the operational risk mapping process and follow up on action plan items identified during the mapping.
•Define the key operational risk indicators according to CA s.a. methodology including utilization of the EUROPA tool
•Identify / assess the operational risks inherent in products, activities, processes and systems (including NAP – New Activity and Products)
•Production of senior management reports
•Ad hoc reviews of compliance with procedures for all departments
•Ensure that contingency and business continuity plans are in place to minimize operational losses in the event of severe business disruption
•Responsible in the preparation of the mid-year and year end IC report to Calyon
•Contribute in the implementation of the Permanent Control Charter Writing and updating operational risk policies and procedures as required
•Provide back-up for operational loss reporting
•Provide back-up for incident reporting into ICIS
•Special projects as may be assigned from time-to-time by the chief risk officer and internal control manager
•And other duties or projects, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
•Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•AS400 (CODA and GMI)
•Excellent organization/prioritization skills
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills
•Self starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
•At least 5-7 years of risk / internal audit or compliance related work experience
•Bachelors degree in Finance or Economics is required. MBA is a strong plus.
•Proven analytical and problem solving skills
•French a plus
