OIL & GAS RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

DEPARTMENT: EQUITY RESEARCH LOCATION: Austin, Texas RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop an expertise in the exploration and production sector and energy sector in general

Assist in the development and detailed modeling of company specific financial and reserve models coordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations and databases

Support and answer client queries as they relate to the sector help maintain and develop sector-specific databases help coordinate quarterly and year-end reporting initiatives

Participate in and assist with morning comments assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives as assigned

Provide research support to analyst as required
Job Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate and/or graduate degree, preferably with a concentration in Business, Economics, Finance or a highly quantitative discipline

Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and detailed spreadsheet work solid writing skills strong PC skills specifically in Microsoft Office applications and sourcing data from the internet and various industry publications

Experience in a professional setting with public financial markets is a significant plus previous experience in the Oil and Gas sector would be a definite asset but not specifically necessary ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time

Strong work ethic, commitment to task and an attention to detail good personal skills and the ability to work and coordinate effectively within a team environment ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess: extensive financial modeling experience that requires the use of Excel and involves all three financial statements

Professional experience and a solid track record of following the public equity markets

Strong writing skills and experience within the energy sector, preferably with a focus on exploration and production
