Position Summary:
Administers the support and maintance of the Corporate LAN/WAN to include configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software, resolving configuration problems expediently, providing data and hardware recovery and/or replacement, and provides technical assistance and support to the computer technician activities to ensure efficient, productive management of day-to-day operations.
Essential Duties:Designs and maintains internal data network to include ensuring technical integrity and reliability of architecture for file servers; maintaining consistency in software versions and operating systems; overseeing network printer administration and logon scripting; and maintaining quarterly user auditing and reporting and monthly user/file/folder access auditing and reporting.
Administers the activities involved in conducting network systems backups to ensure consistent processes and procedures are followed on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annually basis and integrity of network systems backup off-site storage and monthly backup storage and recovery testing.
Provides technical support and maintenance assistance of all networked Document Management and OCR Systems, to include installation and maintenance of systems hardware and software, resolving configuration problems expediently, and providing data and hardware recovery and/or replacement.
Administers internal network security measures at the user, server, and directory levels through scheduled, mandatory changes of passwords, file access, and global group affilications.
Administers virus protection software installation and maintenance on all local computers, network servers and remote access computers to ensure proper installation and upgrade procedures are being followed. Stays abreast of the latest threats to ensure expedient response and less exposure.
Plans, documents and performs all activities related to FTP setup on internal systems to include client and/or customer locations.
Provides systems support and input in hardware/software planning for network applications procedure development and training.
Assists in overseeing the timely and cost effective completion of projects ensuring user and management satisfaction to include tracking project status and producing weekly status reports.
Designs and produces statistical reports to include such data as server, user, and/or backup statistics. REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:Must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Must have a MCSE Certification in Windows 2000 and 2003 Server.
Must have at least 4 – 5 years computer systems network support and related areas of information technology experience; 2 of which in theWindows 2000 Network Administration environment preferrably in a team lead capacity.
Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a working knowledge of:Current (common) office related software products implemented on a network is essential, including: MS Office, Windows Server, and Workstation Operating Systems
Migrating from Windows NT to Windows 2000/2003 Domain
Creating and using “roaming” user profiles
Data Communications Concepts and Principles
Active Directory and Group Policies
Server and Personal Computer hardware/software support
Business continuity planning and implementationMust able to lift up to 40+ lbs. of computer equipment.
Must be able to stand, stoop or kneel to provide technical support of cabling, hardware and peripherals.
