Mortgage Risk Analyst
As a Mortgage Risk Analyst with U.S. Bank, you will:
Be a member of the Risk Management Team that is responsible for managing the credit quality of retail portfolios by origination channel.
Assist in the development of underwriting policies and guidelines, monitoring and forecasting credit quality performance, risk/return evaluation, account management strategy, and scorecard evaluation and maintenance.
Participate on projects to improve the delivery of our products to customers.
Be highly interactive, you will work closely with other professionals, including business line managers, operations managers, information technologists, as well as members of the senior management team.
Be comfortable providing guidance to peers and others, working with minimal supervision, and making recommendations that have a significant financial impact to the company.
Job Requirements
While we expect that you’ll possess a strong basic skill set, including excellent communication and people skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently, we also require:
A degree in Finance, Statistics, Information Systems or related field and 2 – 5 year experience in consumer risk management and/or lending is required.
MBA or Masters degree preferred.
A background in statistics and quantitative methods and familiarity with PC spreadsheet, word processing and database applications are a must.
A demonstrated programming experience with statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, or FOCUS is a strong plus.
Experience in scored credit (business or consumer) is also helpful.
The ability to work in a dynamic environment and have the motivation to strive for continuous improvement.
The proven ability to work and thrive in a rapid-paced, team-oriented environment; who have the leadership skills to manage projects across multiple functional areas; and who have the drive to meet continual new challenges.
