Merchant Acquisition & Servicing Representative – Coral Gables


The credit card department of CommerceBank is working to expand their product line to include merchant acquiring. This is a new product/program for the bank and this position will provide expertise in the many issues that are faced during the implementation process. Position will assist in establishing underwriting guidelines, processor agreements, merchant applications, P&L reporting, Back-office support etc. After start-up this position will focus on the acquisition and retention of new merchant accounts through various marketing campaigns. Must have a strong desire to build a business within a team environment.


ESSENTIALS OF THE JOB

In depth understanding of the Bankcard Acquiring Industry and the Card Processing Associations.Knowledge of the electronic transmission of funds process including interchange.Assist in the qualification and preparation of required documents for the selection of 3rd party vendors to enhance product line.Develop strategic marketing plans to grow the merchant portfolio and ensure retention of business accounts and customer satisfaction.Monitors sales volume and profitability, and looks for opportunities to sell other bank products including bank issued credit cards (Domestic & International), check card/debit, etc.Monitor the delivery of the product offering and service levels to ensure client satisfaction.To ensure that the merchant services product offering will support the sales efforts of the Commercial Business Sales Units and enhance the customer relationships.Team player who interacts in a professional manner with all bank business units/branches to promote merchant services.Monitor and analyze competitive product offering and trends to ensure a state-of-the-art product offering for our customers.Ability to train, develop, and motivate personnel.Acquires and maintains a deep understanding of the strategies, priorities, and issues of the departments supported.Assure prompt and permanent resolution of issues as they arise and document accordingly.Identify and support the implementation of technology required to meet the merchant’s needs.Attend trainings and seminars to keep abreast of industry changes and developments.Adhere to the general rules and regulations as mandated by the Card Associations.

OTHER PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft-Excel, Power Point, and Word.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Detail orientated, dependable, organized, with a positive attitude.

REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements: BACHELORS DEGREE (OR EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND RELATED TRAINING)

Experience Requirements: 5 + YEARS MERCHANT BANKCARD EXPERIENCE. FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY EXPOSURE HIGHLY PREFERABLE.


Other Essential Knowledge: ORAL & WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH ARE ESSENTIAL.

Decision-Making: STRONG PROBLEM SOLVING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS.


* Local candidates preferred ; however, relocation will be considered for candidates outside of Miami that can relocate quickly and at minimum expense.
