Manager, Lending

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $65,000 to $80,000 per year Location: NASSAU COUNTY Oversee the back-office lending functions that include, but are not limited to, consumer and real estate origination. Set standards of performance for each job function that also includes cross selling of products and services. Ability to track individual performances preferably through automated systems.2.Train, direct, and coach personnel, insuring all have access to the tools and resources necessary for their growth within the institution. As part of this entire process, ensure that there are qualified individuals at each job function for backup support (primary and secondary). Training includes staff from other departments within the credit union.3.Assist Lending personnel with their duties when necessary, particularly when problems arise.4.Perform all department scheduling to insure adequate coverage at all times.5.Interpret loan policies in individual circumstances and make recommendations regarding policies that will not cause additional exposure to the credit union.6.Act in the capacity of "Loan Underwriter" that not only includes underwriting Real Estate and consumer loans, as needed, but also countersign consumer loans as dictated by our "levels of authority."7.Instill and foster a sales culture amongst the entire staff that will support the goals of the credit union. The Manager will work with their Direct Report in establishing cress sell goals for the department and further defined at an individual level.
8.Be flexible with work hours and depending on work volume and or special projects/assignments extend hours necessary to get the job done.
9.Cover late night and Saturday hours or as designated by Direct Report.10.Assist in interviewing and hiring of new employees as well as prepare Performance Appraisals, as assigned, and have available for discussion and review by Direct Report prior to their due date.11.Answer member correspondence according to standards for timeliness.12.Assist in the processing of employee loans13.Perform other duties in addition to normal responsibilities to help the overall workflow of the department and other departments, as assigned by the Team Leader.
