MORTGAGE CREDIT SPECIALIST

Established local credit union is seeking a full-time mortgage credit specialist in their NE Portland office. This position is being offered on a long-term temporary basis through a staffing agency.

As a mortgage credit specialist, you will be responsible for the following functions:Developing recommended action on mortgage loans after interviewing applicants, analyzing their credit history, income and assets, and following secondary markets standards and credit union policies and proceduresExamining loan/file documentation to determine the acceptability of an applicant’s credit historyUnderwritingInteracting effectively with appraisers, escrow companies and other mortgage professionalsProviding exceptional customer service to members and staff, from application through closing
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified applicants must possess the following minimum requirements:3 years current mortgage experience, including a thorough understanding of entire mortgage funding processMortgage industry knowledge including FNMA, FHLMC underwriting and pricing guidelines, loan organization systems (CALYX)1 year underwriting experienceWell-versed in DU and LPAbility to conduct critical analysis of credit and other funding-related data to reach sound funding decisionsOutstanding written/verbal communication skills and customer service skills a MUST!Proficiency with all small office equipment, computers and MS Office Suite
