CONTROLLER (Mortgage) - Melville, NY.There are clients that tell us "we're growing rapidly" and then don't seem to ever be hiring anyone which begs to ask the question, "if a woodchuck could chuck wood, then how much would could a woodchuck chuck if unions got involved?" Right? Okay, maybe the more appropriate question might be "where's the job openings?" I was just testing you. Anyway, our client wants someone that will be responsible for coordinating and administering all corporate accounting functions including:  reconciliation and recording of mortgage loans held for resale and corresponding warehouse funding lines, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, loan servicing and investor accounting functions.  Responsibilities will also include coordinating and directing accurate and timely monthly financial statement closes and preparing monthly financial statements and reports. You'll also recruit, train and develop all accounting department staff and perform some magic tricks including making headaches disappear for the CFO as called upon with unfortunately no curtain calls or standing ovations. Excellent capacity for growth, oh and did I mention a salary in the $80K-$100K+ range depending upon the experience you bring to the table and the mood I'm in when I read your resume. Actually I'd love to think that it matters what I think when it comes to your compensation, but it doesn't matter much if we get to that stage at all. Oh well. Anyhow, if you have 10 years experience in the accounting, a 4 year Accounting degree and a CPA are absolutely required...a MUST, an MBA is a plus. There will be no relocation offered. I think we both know that if you do this job you're getting in to see them so now all you have to do is prove to me that you have the chops for this gig. I'm anxious to see your resume.
