Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Lending Assistant I. Under direct supervision, assists a group of loan officers in obtaining, organizing, and assembling documentation for consumer and basic commercial loans. Prepares accurate and complete loan packages according to Bank and regulatory guidelines. Delivers completed file with request for documentation to Loan Servicing for documentation and completion. Communicates with customers, Bank staff, title companies, and others to respond to inquires, resolve problems and obtain documents necessary to complete the customer’s file.
Ensures compliance with Bank and regulatory requirements and provide quality customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assist lenders in research on accounts to ensure a high level of customer service for both customer requests and problem resolution.Assist lenders in obtaining information relevant to loan applications, including compilation of borrower’s supporting documents, internal research and file set-up. Responsible for running credit reports, ordering prelims, completing flood certifications, etc.Assist lenders in compiling and verifying information provided in borrower’s loan supporting documents; requests further information where necessary. Provides copies of documentation as requested by the customerAssist lenders in obtaining all necessary information needed to process credit request, including specific information that relates to Bank’s collateral in order to insure the Bank will be able to obtain a perfected lien position. This function may include interface with Loan Servicing staff, outside agencies, appraisers, title companies, etc. and the originating Lending Officer, to ensure loans are funded quickly and efficiently.Request loan documents: provides instructions for document preparation as necessary and interfaces with Loan Servicing staff to insure that documentation reflects the correct terms of the approved credit and conforms to bank policy and federal regulations.Reviews completed documentation for accuracy, ensures documents reflect the correct terms of the approved credit, conforms to bank policy and federal regulations and makes corrections or additions as necessary.Performs perfection of collateral (i.e. titles, UCC’s, D/T’s).Coordinates closing and funding of assigned loan packages; calculates closing costs; disburses loan funds and processes payment of fees, including preparation of debit and/or credit entries and checks as needed. Verifies insurance coverage as required on specific collateral taken as security. Assists lenders in obtaining customer’s signatures on applications, financials statements, tax returns and loan documents as necessary.Performs related clerical duties, including word processing, typing, filing, copying, gathering data and preparing routine reports and correspondence as necessary.Reviews loan file prior to releasing to loan servicing to ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.Respond to customer and branch inquires regarding general loan related information.Performs all duties in compliance with laws, regulations, and bank policies and procedures.SECONDARY DUTIES
Attends bank training classes, Internal/external workshops, meetings and seminars to expand the technical and sales expertise to learn and implement the subject matter.May be assigned additional projects and assignments as necessary by the supervisor.Performs related duties as required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSPONSIBILITY
The incumbent in this position has no supervisory responsibilities.
