Job Function –   The Items Processing Services Project Manager will be

responsible for managing the deployment of new and integration of existing item processing systems.  Plans, implements and manages medium to large item processing projects ranging from 3 to 12 months in duration with total costs ranging from $50,000 to $5,000,000.  Reports on all project related activities.  Maintains and supports project management software.  Develops and implements project management processes and procedures and enforces those processes and procedures.



Job Responsibilities –

75%  Responsible for planning, implementation and management of project activities across the Item Processing Services business unit.

Brokers discussions with stakeholders to organize, document and define project deliverables, timelines and anticipated costs.

Manages projects through multiple phases of project life cycle with concurrent accountability for achieving milestone tasks.

Balances the competing demands of scope, cost, time and quality to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the stakeholders.

Monitors and maintains timesheet entries, project plans, and project timelines for all defined projects.

Works with Business Unit Managers and Business Analysts to develop timelines by identifying individual tasks, resources, and costs necessary to complete all projects.  Monitors project timelines for appropriate dates, resource allocation and costs.  Reports time and resource conflicts and areas of concern. Works with Business Unit Managers and Business Analysts to resolve reported issues.

Works with Business Unit Managers and Business Analysts to re-plan projected timelines based on reported hours spent on each project and estimated effort and duration to completion.

Provides weekly feedback to management and Business Unit Managers outlining project progress, project status, and progress against project plan.

Identifies reporting needs and develops standard reports to address those needs.

Maintains and supports project management software.



25%  Responsible for developing and implementing a successful project management environment and project oriented culture.

Responsible for developing and implementing project management processes, policies and procedures.  Enforces all defined policies and procedures.



Ongoing Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Related Experience –

Bachelors degree in Business or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3-6 years experience as a business/computer analyst or consultant.

3-6 years Project Management or Project Coordination experience.

Begin work on the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.

Incumbent shall possess the skills to lead, communicate, negotiate, problem solve and influence the project organization.

3-6 years experience in management of LAN, WAN, database, application development, and/or mainframe environments.

Banking experience preferred but not required.  Especially in the data processing mainframe and microcomputer areas.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong organization skills, ability to independently work on several complex projects at one time.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements –

Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.

Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.

Ability to read and interpret a document.

Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.

Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.  If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
