Investment Assoc:Quantitative

Position OverviewThe primary responsibility of the Investment Associate is to work with research analysts, portfolio managers, and traders on a daily basis to assist in Putnam's investment processes. All Investment Associates will work directly with a quantitative analyst, who will serve as their mentor during their time at Putnam.Position ResponsibilitiesUse Putnam and third party investment tools to produce various analyses
Gather, verify, adjust, and summarize research information
Assist analysts in the research process including the execution of various short-term analysis projects
Build and update tools and models using a wide variety of spreadsheet, statistical analysis, and database software applications; tools and models range from individual security analysis to top-down econometric modeling
Create spreadsheets and other documents that effectively communicate key investment positions and risks to teamEducation and Work ExperienceBA or BS degree required: major in finance, economics, physical
sciences, engineering, mathematics or similar discipline is preferred.
Prior work experience in the financial industry with firm understanding of basic fixed income or equity concepts where applicable is a plus.
Experience in quantitative research and analysis.
Superior undergraduate record.
Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Matlab, C++, S+, or similar.
Team player; willingness to work with people at all levels to promote the common interest, willingness to work tirelessly toward the achievement of both departmental and personal goals.
Desire to enter a full-time MBA program after completing this 3-year work experience.
