Guideline Technician –

Home Loan Funding an Irvine, CA based mortgage originations company is seeking an experienced mortgage professional in its Business-to-Business (B2B) lending division. The Candidate will be responsible for programming and updating investor guidelines into an automated underwriting engine. No programming knowledge is required but a detailed knowledge of mortgage concepts is a must.

A minimum of 5 years of underwriting, processing and/or automated underwriting/risk-based pricing experience, with 3 years in wholesale lending is a MUST. IT experience is not required. Applicants NOT MEETING THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS need not apply.

While other mortgage companies are downsizing, we are hiring and expanding. Home Loan Funding has been in business for over 25 years. This position will initially be for a contract (1099) employee but can morph into a full-time, salaried position). This position reports to the Director of B2B lending.

• Underwrote or processed non-conforming loans in a wholesale environment
• Responsible for daily minimum quality, task-oriented work standards.
• Consider yourself a “hands on” underwriter working a file from origination to funding
• Constantly monitor and improve key performance metrics
• Extensive knowledge of industry underwriting standards
• Ability to develop and implement strategic, operating and resource plans as well as process improvement
• LoanSoft mortgage software knowledge is a plus
• Ability to multi-task in a numbers-driven, high loan volume environment
