Fund Accountant

Controlling Senior AuditorOur client is a large Global Investment Bank
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Timely and accurate completion of the work including execution of audit work coaching of more junior staff in controlling
Drives execution of audits escalating issues/problems as necessary
Facilitates audit tracking and assists in the valuation of proper closure of issues (GATS)
Prepares draft reports including issues, recommendation and obtains managements responses
Discusses exceptions found during fieldwork with Senior Audit Manager/Country Head, participates in exit meetings
Develops and maintains broad financial services experience and banking knowledge
Keeps abreast of business/industry changes and their affect on the firms plan/approach and Core Risk Matrices
Plans audit engagements based upon risk based approachPerforms required SOX work throughout the year
Participates in departmental initiatives, internal projects and potentially in Special Investigations
Keeps Senior Audit Managers apprised of business information and possible affect on audit planning
Keeps Senior Audit Manager apprised of audit progress, escalates in time in case of problems/delays
Co-ordinates with other groups during audit engagement to ensure an integrated approach (e.g. technology teams)
Assists in the scheduling and staffing of audit jobs

REQUIREMENTS
The ideally candidate should have the following:
5-8 years of experience with a combination of investment banking and big 4 accounting firm exposure
CPA license required
Bachelors degree required, preferred in accounting or finance
Sound understanding of US GAAP
Knowledge of IFRS preferable
Ability to identify and evaluate risks within the control environment
Good communications skills both verbal and written is a must
Confidence to speak with management about issues, control failures etc..
Team player and able to work well with the audit team
Ability to work well under minimal supervision
Be able to train and develop junior staff
