Fraud - Processing Spec IV

This position will analyze suspect reports and suspicious transactions on Regions accounts and take preventive action to protect the bank from losses. Duties will include: research and analysis of customer accounts for possible fraud. Must be able to identify valid or fraudulent transactions to protect the customer's accounts by comparing suspect checks with small dollar checks paying against the account to determine if a fraud attempt is in progress, communicate with customers and branch associates on a routine basis.May perform some or all of the following, yet is not limited to the below:- Perform data input duties.
- Responsible for developing and distributing reports.
- Input information into a spreadsheet or database and prepare various reports.
- Assist customers with questions and provide answers, referrals or solutions.
- Process paperwork required for assigned area, e.g., claims, loans, account information, customer information, fund transactions, etc.
- Process and disburse various types of payments (e.g., principle and interest payments, rent payments, social security, retirement, annuity, oil royalties, mutual fund dividends, capital gains, etc.). Process checks for distribution.
- Responsible for processing wire transfers daily and ensuring all check requests and/or outgoing wire transfer requests have authorized signatures(s).- Ensure that statements and reports are delivered according to department standard guidelines.
- Monitor daily processing logs from internal and/or external sources.
- Research and resolve any balancing exceptions.
- Copy and file work, as requested.
- Open, sort and file mail.
- Process remittals and transmittals.- Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
- Update desktop procedures as required.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by supervisor and/or area manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.- 6+ years experience in an applicable industry preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in applicable computer software systems to include word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
- Excellent typing skills.
- Detail oriented.- Skilled in meeting established guidelines.
