Finance Director/Treasurer

Salary: This position is in Pay Grade 24 with a salary range from $65,000-$75,000, DOQ, plus excellent benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Village of Round Lake, Illinois (population 15,000), one of the fastest growing municipalities in Illinois, seeks an experienced Director of Finance. The Village operates under president/board form of government with appointed village administrator. Director of Finance appointed by president and village board and reports to village administrator. Village’s FY 2006 combined budget is $18 million. Director of Finance also acts as Treasurer and is responsible for all financial matters including accounting, auditing, treasury management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budget preparation, appropriation ordinance, tax levy, Treasurer for Police Pension Fund, MIS coordination and fiscal analysis/projections.
REQUIREMENTS
Position requires experience in financial administration, accounting and budgeting. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration or business administration plus 5 years of professional experience in finance required; CPA preferred. Thorough knowledge of laws and policies governing municipalities important; ability to prepare complex financial reports, supervise work of others, perform fiscal planning, provide financial advice and communicate effectively essential. The recommended candidate will be the Mayor’s appointment subject to confirmation by the Board of Trustees.
