Education Finance Loan Representative I

The Loan Representative I places outbound calls and receives inbound calls from potential customers to facilitate the sale of products/services. The position also prepares documentation of sales, conducts follow up calls and responds to customer inquiries.



The Loan Representative I will provide personalized service (telephone and/or written) that meet or exceed clients' time and quality expectations. You will execute transactions promptly and accurately respond to clients requests and inquiries. To meet those demands, you will focus on understanding the firm's service policies, systems and legal compliance regulations as well as our products and services.




Handles outbound and inbound calls to potential and existing customers to facilitate the sale of products/services (Federal and Private) Determines customer needs using probing techniques Determines loan eligibility using a preset, qualification checklist Guides customer through the various products, customizes based on customer feedback and questions Answers customer questions and handles objections, listens to customers questions and concerns, identifies key issues and develops communication style to suit each customer Closes sale (application initiated, electronic signature requested, mailed to customer home, or FedEx scheduled) Prepares documentation of sales to include entering appropriate and accurate information in computer system May respond to customer inquiries referring them to published materials, secondary sources, or more senior staff Places follow up calls to ensure returns and facilitate processing of applications Cross sells other products

The position is located at our Fredericksburg, Virginia office and the working hours will be 1:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.
REQUIREMENTS


High school degree or equivalent, Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

One year work related experience including customer interaction, retail sales, or telesales background, prior experience in a call center preferred

Basic knowledge with computer based applications, Microsoft Office desired

Familiar and comfortable using and communicating via email

Minimum typing speed of 20 wpm

Must have knowledge to navigate a computerized data entry system or other relevant applications

Self-motivated to provide excellent customer service to all customers and potential customers

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
