Divisional Vice President, Treasury Operations

The first Family Dollar store was opened in Charlotte, NC in 1959. It was a relatively small, self-service operation located in a neighborhood convenient to low and middle income consumers. The merchandise assortment featured basic goods for family and home needs, and the no frills, low overhead, cash-and-carry environment provided good value at the lowest price points. As new stores opened in the early years of the Company's existence, it became clear that this merchandising concept filled a niche in the marketplace and held great promise for supporting a chain of much larger size. General Summary:

Responsible for the direction and management of Family Dollar's treasury operations.



Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Management of cash and banking relationships, cash flow planning and projections and management of existing and new credit relationships.

2. Direct the planning, procurement and investment of funds for the organization.

3. Delegate authority for receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities and financial instruments.

4. Analyze financial records to forecast future cash position and budget requirements.

5. Evaluate need for procurement of funds and investment of surplus.

6. Advise management on investment policy.

7. Prepare treasury operations reports for management.

8. Sign notes of indebtedness as approved by management.

9. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS




Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree, BA/BS in Finance or Accounting, Master's Degree a plus

Experience: 8-10 Years Treasury Experience

Software: Proficiency with main Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), MS Project a plus

Certification: Certified Cash Manager/Financial Analyst a plus
