Director of Communications

This is an exciting opportunity with a well-managed, growth-oriented bank that is a national leader in providing financing to critical lifeline businesses and companies vital to our nation’s rural economies. CoBank, a highly successful $35 billion financial services institution headquartered in Denver, is seeking a talented, high-energy public relations professional to manage our external communications programs. Specializing in financing the food, agribusiness, telecommunications, energy and water industries, all communications and marketing initiatives promote CoBank’s unique value proposition as Rural America’s Cooperative Bank.

Our ideal candidate will have 15 years of corporate communications experience, 10 years in a mid-management to senior level corporate business role and 5 years of experience in managing employees with positive, measurable results. We are seeking an individual who develops others and whom others want to follow. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Communications, you will supervise a vibrant staff to execute a wide range of high-quality, effective communications and marketing programs and materials, including financial reports and web casts, presentations and speeches, media relations, publications, marketing collateral, special events, shareholder meetings, marketing support programs, video presentations, and advertising.
REQUIREMENTS
As Director of Communications, you must have the ability to think strategically, proactively offer creative solutions and provide practical knowledge to execute tactically. You’ll work with top management and business unit leaders on strategic communications issues and marketing initiatives as well as manage relationships with creative agencies, vendors and suppliers.
