Overview



The position resides in the Asset Management division's Marketing Communications team and:

Manages and creates communications materials / vehicles for retail and institutional investors and financial advisors describing the

division's investment philosophy, portfolio strategies and investment expertise



Draws on comprehensive knowledge of TIAA-CREF investment strategies, research approach and product and service offering



Responsibilities

 

Serve as key point of contact to investments, product management, sales and corporate marketing teams for

investment content development and repurposing



Conceive, write, edit and coordinate production for a variety of investment related communications

including investment strategy overviews and updates, market and economic commentary, investment

research/white papers and on-line content



Build and develop a team of investment writers



Assist with positioning TIAA-CREF investment and business professionals as experts in their fields and

craft messages to help build the Asset Management business consistent with area and corporate goals



Ensure that investment communications promote a clear connection to Asset Management's investment

positioning, messages and divisional and corporate brand identity



Work closely with channel marketing and business develop teams to understand client segment needs for investment

content, costs of developing and disseminating content and ultimate business benefits.



Track and monitor project execution, ensuring that investment communications complement strategic marketing and

communications plansHelp anticipate / identify issues associated with multiple and cross-channel investment communications

and work to manage such issues.



Assist in developing proposals for enhanced communications strategies, process improvements and technology initiative



Cultivate relationships with corporate communications and other internal teams, as well as with outside agencies and organizations

to promote Asset Management's investment capabilities and expertise



Assess the impact and quality of investment communications strategy and tactics through the use of surveys or other metric

REQUIREMENTS




Exceptional communications skills, including writing, editing and presenting investment content, as well as project management skills



Bachelors Degree


Willingness to build relationships and meet needs within and across business lines and client segments



Strong knowledge of investment markets, products and services, client market segements, portfolio

management strategies and economics including at least 5 - 8 years of financial services communications experience (corporate communications, marketing)


Experience managing and developing communications professionals highly desired



Series 7 and 24 or willingness to obtain both within 12 - 18 months
