GlobeCast, a France Telecom Company, and the world’s leading provider of transmission and production services for television broadcasters, businesses and internet media programmers, has an immediate opening in our Culver City offices for a Database Administrator.

This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and administering both our SQL and Oracle corporate databases, including schema definition, structure, documentation, long range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Additional duties include maintaining security and integrity controls; formulating policies and standards relating to database management; and database related production including consistency checking, index validation and data load/unload job failures. This position operates in a highly complex technical environment requiring solid Windows operating systems knowledge and will be managing database elements including schemas, table spaces, tables, views, user login, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills for Oracle:
·5 years current and practical experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle 9i/10g in both development and production environments.
·5 years writing or developing of Oracle Scripts.
·Managing Oracle databases on the Windows Server 2000 Operating System.
·Trained or Certified by Oracle as an Oracle DBA.
·Serve as SQL server DBA to manage SQL server databases.
·Excellent Transact- SQL knowledge (stored procedures, views, triggers, sub-queries, joins, etc.).
·Must have a solid understanding on triggers, and Indexes.
·Must have an Understanding of DTS, Profiler, Log Shipping, and Perfmon.
·Responsible to verify nightly batch jobs process.
·Troubleshoot system problems and performance issues. Should be able to perform backups and restore to system Databases.
·Must be able to create and manage jobs, have an understanding of filegroups and transaction logs.
·Able to understand ASP and .NET.
·Able to manage users and permissions.
·Experience with performance tuning. Should have worked with multiple servers.
·Must have thorough knowledge of application best practices with respect to database uptime and project planning.
·Develop and Implement system releases in development and production environments.
Required Skills for SQL:
·Candidates will have 5 Years experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator with knowledge of SQL 2000/ 2005, and hands on experience.
·The DBA should also have 3 Years of experience with DTS. This position will be responsible for day-to-day administration of adding users and privileges, building tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
·Experience in SQL Server performance tuning, upgrading, security, installation and maintenance is required.
·Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems from an accredited University or equivalent experience.
Desired Skills and Experience:
·Working knowledge of Windows 2000/XP/2003 operating systems.
·Experience with Crystal Reports is also a plus.
·Strong DBA competency and past data modeling experience.
·Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures.
·Solid skills with one or more programming language such as PL/SQL Stored Procedures.
·Must be self-directed with good organizing and planning skills.
·Must be able to write effective, detailed documentation and must have excellent communication skills.
·Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Developers, and other technical and business staff
·Must demonstrate strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, and must be able to communication effectively to technical and non-technical personnel.
