Compensation Consultant

SunTrust Bank has a current opportunity for a Compensation Consultant for our Atlanta, GA office. The Compensation Consultant may be assigned a variety of special projects or on-going program administration responsibility within the Executive Compensation group. These may include stock-based compensation programs, annual cash incentive programs, director’s compensation, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, SOX compliance, business processes improvement, annual Proxy preparation, management reporting, etc. Near-term assignments will likely involve award nominations for the executive compensation programs, Proxy development, production of compensation statements, incentive accrual reporting, and other miscellaneous tasks. These assignments and daily tasks will require very strong PC and HR systems skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with senior executives and employees at all levels and ability to work with highly confidential and detailed information in an accurate and timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and 4- 7 years professional work experience a portion of which should include the HR and/or compensation field. The ideal candidate would have experience and current knowledge in as many areas of executive compensation as possible – i.e., stock administration, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, cash incentive administration, automated database creation and use in compensation, market data analysis, laws, regulations and compliance, record keeping and account reconciliation, employment agreements, etc. The candidate must have both strong analytical skills and the ability to summarize and communicate complex issues to employees and to executive management. Strong PC and database skills are a must, particularly in the use of MS Access and Excel. The ability to work quickly, accurately and confidentially with detailed financial and employee records is critical. A BA or BS is essential; and MBA is ideal. Professional HR and Compensation certifications are highly desirable, such as SPHR and CCP designations. Excellent PC sills, especially in Microsoft Access and Excel are a must.
