Commercial Real Estate Lender

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Managing the origination and underwriting of commercial real estate loans for placement in the CMBS and other secondary markets. Responsibilities include conducting financial and valuation analysis on project-specific real estate operating data for presentation to long-term lenders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


Analyze project-specific commercial, income producing real estate information and package for presentation to long-term lenders. Property types to include office, industrial, apartments, hotels, retail and special purpose. Project analysis includes calculating NOI, DCR, and long-term cash flow projections.
Review existing construction portfolio for permanent lending opportunities serving as primary customer contact along with bank relationship managers Originate new borrowing relationships for long term financing programs.
Develop knowledge of long-term lending sources and identify logical placement for deal specific projects.
Organizing underwriting efforts including site inspections, engineering, environmental, and appraisal reports.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE:*Minimum of three to five years of commercial income property analysis experience in lending or brokerage. Formal credit training preferred. Prior CMBS experience strongly encouraged.

EDUCATION:*BA/BS or equivalent (combination of coursework and work experience) in accounting, finance, real estate or related area.

SKILLS:Demonstrated understanding of income property operating statements and financial statements for both borrowers and major tenants and the ability to identify cash flow concerns and weaknesses.
Understanding of commercial real estate transactions and structured financings, conduit and capital markets.
Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation abilities. Ability to multi-task.
Ability to instill confidence and enthusiasm in associates and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Ability to quickly and courteously win the confidence of customers and bank officers.
Must be well organized and have an extraordinary work ethic.
Ability to travel as needed
