Commercial Branch Manager- Coventry
Set department/function objectives, work and sales goals, and plan strategy for successful completion.
Develop, implement, and communicate business plan strategy to employees to ensure their understanding and commitment to achievement of work/sales goals.
Set, manage and meet operating budgetary guidelines for department.
Establish an organizational compliance with Corporate policies and procedures.
Measure and appraise subordinates performance against job duties, objectives and goals. Determine salary increase within guidelines.
Provide a motivating work environment and give accurate and frequent coaching on subordinates’ performance.
Assist employees in job training, cross-training, and skill and personal development.
Support and communicate relevant Company information, policies and procedures; ensure Company information, departmental procedures, and job descriptions are written, available, and current.
Insure all Personnel issues are handled in a timely manner and within Company guidelines.
Grow commercial portfolio by specified goal established annually.
Make outside sales calls to commercial customers and prospects for business development.
Build commercial deposit growth and establishes full service relationships (i.e. Trust, Web Banking).
Maintain lending authority based on experience and performance (maximum $100,000 secured and $25,000 unsecured).
Manage commercial loan portfolio up to an established maximum. Since parameters may change, leave them vague in the job description.
Represent bank effectively at corporate community functions such as chamber of commerce, rotary, business associations, etc. in order to develop and maintain business.
Provide clear expectations for staff on sales goals at a branch level and on an individual basis.
Monitor sales results on a daily basis for the branch.
Focus on direct servicing of high value retail customers and any customer as needed.
Provide leadership and participates in corporate and local sales initiatives.
Provide ongoing employee feedback and coaching to develop sales skills.
Promote a sales and service culture within the branch office.
Ensure customers receive quality service through the branch staff and branch support.
REQUIREMENTS
Five to seven years in progressively responsible banking positions or five to seven years of proven supervisory experience in related areas required.
Thorough knowledge of bank products and services, general banking principles, operations, and governmental regulations pertaining to branch banking.
Basic understanding of commercial lending, loan portfolio management, consumer credit underwriting, and business development techniques.
Effective skills required: verbal and written communications; interpersonal; customer relations; computer and technical; organizational; supervisory
Must be able to travel within the banking area on short notice, providing own transportation.
Must be able to work non-standard hours as necessary.
