Commercial Banker II

M&I Coporation financial services company, which focuses upon developing long-term customer relationships, involvement in local community, and high quality service with a strong customer service focus.

We are currently looking for a Commercial Banker II for our Phoenix market.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Develop and maintain commercial banking relationships with major corporate and institutional bank customers and prospects. Account responsibilities will be of moderate complexity. Goal is to assist with and begin to have impact on Commercial Banking Group’s profit goals and objectives by ensuring retention of existing customers, development of new customers and cross-selling of all of M&I’s products and services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Develop and maintain a balanced and sound loan portfolio that meets M&I’s loan policies. Specific tasks will include:
· Credit analysis
· Preparation of loan presentations for credit approval
· Negotiation of loan documentation
· Monitoring of credits to ensure conformity with terms and developing trends
2. Maintain deposits and exhibit working knowledge of M&I’s Treasury Management products.
3. Cross-sale of all M&I products and services to ensure that customers’ needs are met.
4. Call on potential or existing customers to develop new business or increase or retain existing business (50% of time spent on sales/customer interaction). Specific tasks include:
· Industry analysis
· Establishment of call strategies
· Research prospective customers
5. Other related projects are assigned as needed
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This position requires:
· College degree; preferably with Accounting, Finance or Economics focus
· An ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written form
· Computer literacy
· Credit analysis skills; interpretation and application of data as it relates to credit terms and conditions

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT:
Performance goals established annually by the Commercial Banking Group are a combination of subjective and quantifiable measures for the following components:
· Portfolio management
· Account profitability
· Deposit targets
· Closed referral activity
· Quality of relationship strategies
