Financial Planning AnalystOur client is a diversified manufacturer of engineered products.
The Financial Planning Analyst is principally responsible for executing financial and operational analyses of the Company and its business units, evaluating capital appropriations, and providing analytical support for internal and external reporting activities. To achieve these objectives, the Analyst interacts routinely with senior financial leaders at corporate and the various business units.Responsibilities and DutiesFinancial and operational analysis with regard to profitability of the businesses, including sales and order trends, product line reporting, price-volume-mix analysis, new product revenue, expense analysis, productivity, foreign exchange impact, working capital, optimization of capital, etc.Provide vital analytical support for the internal and external reporting of financial results.Consolidate, review and analyze monthly activity, quarterly forecasts and annual operating plans.
Special projects working with various business units to analyze and evaluate operational results and provide recommended actions for improvements.Contribute to the strategic planning process by providing insight, commentary and projections of economic trends impacting the Company and its business units deduced through research and data mining efforts.Evaluate and report on the company’s performance versus comparable companies and the broader market to drive a better understanding of our business competitors and markets.Review and analysis of Capital Expenditure Requests.Support Corporate Strategic Planning and the business units in evaluating potential acquisitions and divestitures. Prepare Board of Director and Executive Management presentations.Approximately 10% travel.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have a BS/BA/BBA (Accounting preferred) with MBA and/or CPA. Minimum of five years of financial experience with a concentration in financial planning and analysis or operations reporting. Experiences with highly-successful, multi-national manufacturing operations are considered important for success in this role. Strong financial and analytical skills, sound business acumen, extensive financial analysis (including financial modeling expertise), a creative thought process, and effective time management. Commercially minded and fully engaged in the business; a proactive business partner. Change agent: creativity coupled with skill in implementing new ideas and process improvements in a complex organization. Six Sigma/Lean background highly desirable. Highly motivated individual that is results oriented and has the willingness to take ownership for the success of the group. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Extensive experience with Hyperion Enterprise, Retrieve and Analyst and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint are essential.
