Collateral Analyst

FIELDSTONE INVESTMENT CORPORATION (NASDAQ: FICC), a Maryland corporation and the parent company of FIELDSTONE MORTGAGE COMPANY, is a fully integrated mortgage banking company. Fieldstone originates, sells and services non-conforming and conforming single-family residential mortgage loans secured primarily by first liens and retains a portion of its high-quality non-conforming residential mortgage loans to build and manage an investment portfolio. We are currectly searching for a Collateral Analyst for our Investment Portfolio group.
Summary of Objectives:Analyst position performing collateral analytics for inventory management and mortgage-backed securitization program for REIT Investment Portfolio
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:1. Assist Portfolio manager with mortgage loan inventory management.
A. Primary responsibility for mortgage loan information system B. Normalize loan information C. Produce position reports D. Produce stratification reports for investment analysis, valuation and trading
2. Work as key member of securitization team
A. Have thorough understanding of fields and data required for financings, loan sales and securitizations. B. Conduct rigorous data scrubbing and edit testing for data integrity C. Manage pooling of loans through stratification and review of mortgage loan data D. Create extract files from mortgage loan database to be used by other internal applications, rating agencies and Wall Street dealers
3. Perform other duties related to mortgage loan information and inventory management as required
REQUIREMENTS
1. 2 years experience at a staff level
2. Quantitative undergraduate major (accounting, engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, information technology, etc.)3. Very strong overall technical skills4. Strong excel skills5. Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment, under pressure.6. Detail oriented7. Experience with databases and mortgage or asset finance a positive8.
