Closely Held Business Asset Analyst
Completes investment reviews of family businesses, including formulating investment recommendations, determining valuations for fee purposes, and determining market availability and price. Reviews financial statements, taking into consideration the impact of rights offering, stock splits, security sales, and corporate liquidations on investors. Values closely held assets for various tax related purposes.
Major duties:
• Completes investment reviews of family businesses, including formulating investment recommendations, determining valuations for fee purposes, and determining market availability and price.
• Reviews financial statements, taking into consideration the impact of rights offerings, stock splits, security sales, and corporate liquidations on investors.
• Reviews financial information to recommend to asset managers how to vote proxies, tender offers, reorganizations, roll ups, capital calls, and other issues.
• Makes asset sale decisions and properly implements, coordinates, and documents the sale transactions.
• Completes valuations for corporations and partnerships for tax related purposes within established deadlines.
• Records assignments and ensures that billings are completed within established deadlines.
• Communicates with grantors, beneficiaries, attorneys, and accountants to obtain financial data and clarify discrepancies.
• Works closely with partners in various areas of the bank to collect financial data, implement transactions, and
respond to inquiries.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/skills:
Knowledge of accounting, financial analysis, investment products, and services, usually
acquired through related work experience or a four year degree program in finance or related subject, is required to complete investment reviews and make asset sale decisions. Analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required to analyze financial statements, complete asset valuations, collect data from various sources, and clarify discrepancies.
Experience Required: 3 years of related financial analysis experience. MBA strongly preferred.
